Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters have been called to a house fire on Beaulieu Avenue in Sydenham

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters have been called to a house fire on Beaulieu Avenue in Sydenham.

The first and second floor was completely destroyed, half of the ground floor and half of the roof was also damaged by the blaze in the three floored building.

The Brigade’s 999 Control centre has received 21 calls alerting them to the fire.

One woman left the property before the Brigade arrived and is being treated on scene by London Ambulance Service.

The Brigade was called at 1.15pm and was under control by 3pm the sameday.

Fire crews from Forest Hill, Beckenham, West Norwood, Lewisham, Peckham and New Cross fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
