Barking,London, Around 125 firefighters have rushed to the scene of a huge warehouse fire in East London.

The fire, which started on Friday evening (May 15) in Barking is sending huge plumes of black smoke into the sky.


London Fire Brigade confirmed it had sent 25 fire engines to the scene to help extinguish the fire on an industrial estate in Alfreds Way, Barking.

The fire is in the estate just south of the A13, with reports smoke is visible across swathes of East London.

125 firefighters are currently tackling a fire at an industrial estate on Alfreds Way in Barking”.

The c2c East London and Essex service is disrupted due to the proximity of the fire to the track between Barking and Dagenham Dock.

London Ambulance Service says they are now responding to the incident in Barking.

Residents in the area are advised to keep doors and windows closed.

The fire has ripped through the iSaimaxx builder’s merchant warehouse on the estate.

The fire is in a single story warehouse on the Alfreds Way Industrial Estate, which lies just south of the A13 in Barking.

Firefighters have closed off the Lodge Avenue roundabout with the A13 to traffic.

The roundabout is located next to the Alfreds Way industrial estate where the fire has started.
