Murder probe after 20 year old Man is stabbed outside East London shopping centre

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbing in an east London shopping centre.

Police were called on Tuesday, 20 March at 21:30 hours to reports of a disturbance in Stratford Centre, The Broadway E15.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found a man, believed to be in his early 20s, suffering from stab injuries.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services he was pronounced dead at the scene at 22:30 hours.

His next of kin have now been informed. Formal identification awaits and a post mortem examination will be held in due course.

The investigation is being led by A/DCI Will Reynolds of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command.

At this early stage, it is believed that the victim and a friend were involved in an altercation with a group of young males before he was stabbed.

No arrests. Enquires are ongoing.
