Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Jodie Chesney have charged a teenager with murder and made further arrests.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested in London on Friday, 8 March and will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 11 March.
A further four arrests have also been made in connection with the investigation.
An 18-year-old man from Romford remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 50-year-old man and 38-year-old woman, both from Dagenham, and a 17-year-old male have all been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All four were arrested on Sunday, 10 March and remain in custody pending ongoing enquiries.
Jodie Chesney was found suffering from a stab injury in a park close to St Neot’s Road in Harold Hill on the evening of Friday, 1 March. She was pronounced dead at 22:26hrs.
Manuel Petrovic, 20 (21.12.98), of Highfield Road, Romford, was arrested in Leicester on Tuesday, 6 March and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 9 March after being charged with murder. He will appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 11 March.
